"When you make a commitment to a relationship, you invest your attention and energy in it more profoundly because you now experience ownership of that relationship"

Barbara De Angelis

MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

You may be here because you are feeling frustrated by life. Perhaps your relationships are leaving you feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. Maybe you are not sure how you feel but just know you are stuck and need something to change.

Personal therapy provides time and space that is entirely yours. I will work alongside you to help facilitate greater understanding about what you are feeling and the ways you would like life to be different. I offer the type of listening and feedback that can create connection, understanding and personal transformation.

I am passionate about working with individuals and couples who have become stuck in unsatisfying relationships, destructive patterns, or their own individual pain. This "stuck-ness" can leave us feeling alone, misunderstood, anxious, and depressed. I offer an environment that is caring, challenging, and encouraging as we work together to develop new insights and create the personal and relational growth you are seeking.

THERAPY SERVICES I OFFER

EVIDENCE-BASED THERAPY PRACTICE

Therapy Based on Scientific Research

Evidence-based therapy practice is so important to me as a clinician! In my therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve the current problems you are facing and work to improve your thinking, behaviors, and relationships. Since I also work at MSU I have access to the most cutting edge research and modalities of therapy in the field.

COUPLES THERAPY

A Happier, Healthier Relationship

I utilize counseling  methods that are based on scientific evidence and best practices. For couples the two main modalities that I utilize include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method.

EFT is a form of therapy that focuses on adult relationships and attachment. Goals of EFT are to create a more secure bond and strengthen trust and communication in a relationship.

The Gottman Method is an approach that is based on 40 years of research with thousands of couples. Goals of the Gottman Method include increasing a couple's friendship behaviors, addressing conflict productively, and building a life of shared meaning together.

Therapy can be a life-changing experience, it is my honor and privilege to be a part of this process with you. If you have more questions, and I'm sure you do, please don't hesitate to contact me - I am here to help you.
